The Newborns Asthma and Parental Smoking (NAPS) Project promotes the health message ‘Care for my air!’ and ‘Fresh air grows solid babies’ to encourage
pregnant women and new mothers to protect the foetus and newborn from environmental tobacco smoke to reduce their chance of developing asthma.
The Asthma Foundation of WA is a community based, non-profit

To minimise the impact of asthma on the lives of people
with asthma, by improving their general health and understanding
of current, medically approved asthma management techniques.
To provide current and accurate information to interest
groups including parents, health service administrators,
government bodies, medical practitioners, nurses, pharmacists,
sports coaches, employers, school teachers, and child care
workers which will improve the treatment and care of asthma
To promote and fund research into the mechanisms, causes,
impact and treatment of asthma.
To raise the public’s general awareness of the difficulties
and challenges confronting asthma sufferers and the impact
of the disease on the West Australian Community.
